Sure Why Not!Now these two characters were paired together in this record and this coloring book but their connection pretty much stops at the cover. Why they were paired in one title I don't know, neat though! Hanna-Barbera did other odd parings too such as comics like Huckleberry Hound and Yakky Doodle which I suppose was due to Yakky being added to the Huck syndication package when it started reruning on local stations.
You're seeing missing links because Blogger is willing to let me add them. Google is making this service more and more difficult each time I post it seems

I gotta give credit and a plug here...There is a great website about early coloring books called Retroreprints losts of great photos of coloring books there. I'm using their photo here. Unlike the record, I don't own this one.

Superman and Tennessee Tuxedo! Musky the Muskrat and Dick Tracy!
These rule! These Soaky commercials are incredible. According to Darrel Van Citters there was also a Mr. Magoo with the Universal Monsters.

I love these Soaky commericals. I have several Soaky toys in my own collection (Yogi Bear, Felix the Cat, Porky Pig, and Top Cat). Those of you in (or near) the Birmingham Alabama area should visit my friend Tim Hollis's private toy museum in his home. It's absolutely fantastic. As a Birmingham resident, I have visited probably more time than anyone else (and I'll continue to go!)

Sharing from the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library's site is another great piece of
footage from a great comic artist. Jackie Ormes was the very first African
American woman to get her own newspaper strip. All of you should check her strip
and read Nancy Goldstein book which can be bought at this link

In fact, it's a bonus on a few of Steve Stanchfield's terrific Thunderbean special Blu-Ray discs (which I highly recommend). But after rewatching it, I thought I'd reshare Steve's obscurity here on this blog. Enjoy!

In the mean time, here is a link to part of an interview with Joe Barbera. I'll share something here at least once a week hopefully. I like sharing stuff here (watching obscure things is more fun that way!)

homework, and jotting into about seven time intensive posts for Cartoon
Research. I've also been working on something specific for this blog. For the
past year while balancing college, I've been toiling away at a weblink database
for this blog. It's why the blog has been relatively untouched. In the meantime,
I've got a question for you guys. Was this the first time the Looney Tunes
characters appeared in an advertisement on Television? This was made in 1956 and
I'm wondering if this was the first time Bugs was mentioned in a TV commerical.
I'm sure they were mentioned in kid's shows using the AAP packages. Also was
this a local kid's show host or someone else. I'm wondering who this was in this
ad?

While I continue to toil away at posts for Cartoon Research and a special post for this blog, I just wanted to share this.
For the past year I’ve been helping Amber Jones with a fandocumentary on Bill Scott. At first, I was a bit skeptical about her project because most people who Bill knew have already passed so I wasn’t sure there was much to tell. However once she showed me the original audio and photos, I was absolutely amazed. I was absolutely onboard with the whole thing. Most of this stuff I had never heard before and neither have most of you. I was so impressed when I first spoke to her about her passion for Jay Ward that I helped her write sections of the doc, particularly the John Sutherland part. I also promoted the podcast on Mark Arnold’s podcast too!

It seems weirder though. Huckleberry Hound was chased by dogs all the time which never seemed weird.

Here's a Popeye one. Is the dog done by a well known voice actor? He just like a random person's voice slowed down.

When was the last time you picked up a brand new comic book and laughed? Been a while right? For me, it's been a while since I've even bought a comic that wasn't fifty years or older. However, this is a must have and I highly reccomend it! Biffle and Shooster, America's favorite fake 1930's comedy duo, are the stars of comic books that came out a while back. These comics have been combined into one brilliant collection titled Biffle and Shooster's Comic Compendium! It's brilliantly written by Mike Kazalah and Will Ryan, who is Shooster to Nick Santa Maria's Biffle.

While you're at it, I also highly recommend you buy their brilliant shorts on DVD. The set includes 5 Biffle and Shooster shorts from the 1930s (well, not really, but yeah they're from the 30s) with everything to love like music, gorillas, Vernon Dent, Cinecolor, and the brilliant work of actors Nick Santa Maria, Will Ryan, and director Michael Schlesinger.

I always found it odd that this character got his (or her?) own title card. Finny appeared in Feast And Furious with Katnip which is where the title card comes from. Did Finny the Goldfish appear in any other cartoons or Harvey comic books? I can't figure out if he did or not! Also do you guys think that Famous Studios thought that there would be another cartoon with Finny in it? That seems like the only logical reason to have a "featuring Finny" card attached to the film. Or was there and I'm wrong?

Kamden Spieshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00054100784919062180noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3949792213355973087.post-72800679860578664892020-11-25T14:02:00.002-06:002020-11-25T14:02:28.127-06:00Charles Schulz on The Dick Cavett ShowThank you to whoever posted these on YouTube!
