Character Glasses Print Ads

There were a lot of fast food mascots. Foghorn Leghorn promoted KFC which you will see the pin back below of. Popeye of course did Popeye's. The Simpsons had Burger King. Some things were promoted not just by TV Commercials or toys  but also by other ways as well. Character glasses were one way. Every character has had one and every one of us owns one. They are the easiest of collectibles to find. After a while I just stopped collecting them. They crowded the shelves. Here are some newspaper ads for these glasses.

Boo Boo on his Own

Have you ever seen Boo Boo without Yogi? Definetly not in the cartoons. Collectibles have featured him without his big buddy. It's bizarre.

World's Greatest Cockroach Historians

Mark Kausler and Jerry Beck are two of the greatest animation historians to ever live. They have been big help with my book and are constantly helping me with this blog by giving feedback and extra information that I don't know. The two are more knowledgeable than anyone else in animation history but apparently they both know quite a bit about cockroaches. They are both in the acknowledgements of this book on cockroaches. Very interesting.
