Ann-Margrock Presents ads
Ann-Margret was probably the most memorable guest star on The Flintstones and there were a bunch of newspaper and magazine ads promoting the episode. Here are a couple:

Ray Bradbury owned Bugs Bunny Show cel with Pluto
This cel is said to have Pluto and the looney tunes characters in the same cel. It clearly is multiple cels that they thought were one. It could be the same cel but I doubt it. It seems to be the Bugs Bunny Show lineup with Pluto (if you know the short please comment below).

Snippy's Scissors
Snippy's scissors were one of few brands to use popular cartoon characters as scissors. And they were sold in whitman and gold key comics. Woody Woodpecker was the only character that was not warner bros. Below is the comic ad and a couple of the pairs of scissors.

the longest and worst comic strip credit mistake in history
A twelve year old did this! Appearently the Daily Times News (the one from my 1980s removal story) corrected the paper in 1959 to credit Warners instead of Disney. The writers of both the Disney and Warner Bros comic strips never got credit. You can read about that in my story about how this paper got the strip. Anyways here's how it looked.
Here's how it looked before and after Donald Bell corrected this mistake

Comic Strips take holidays...
Apparently the Statesville newspaper didn't publish a paper on July Fourth. Instead of publishing the comics from the 4th, they wrote an article about what happened in writing on July 6th. This shows how lowsey comics are with only words. These don't make sense. Strangest thing I've ever seen

More Bugs Protests
The Bugs strip was really popular. This was during the Eisenhower election. It seems that there were more people writing about the Bugs Strip. I also would want the to have another Bugs strip rather than read more political news. Statesville Daily NC Record March 28, 1952

Collectibles 16--Mr. Magoo car
The Mr. Magoo Show's opening theme featured Magoo driving crazily threw a farm and all sorts of places. I don't know when Magoo first got this car (if you know please comment). In 1961, the hubley toy company made a battery operated tin Mr. Magoo toy.

North Carolina Statesville1952 Bugs Strip Protests
In Statesville, the Bugs Bunny 1950s strip was removed for a similar reason as the Burlington Daily Times News. The public was not happy. They never brought back bugs... North Carolina again...
I think this state lost some readers... I'd be one of them if I lived in that state during the 1980s bugs removal or the 1950s bugs removal. I'd also like to remind you that this is not the same newspaper from the 1980s removal. That one was the Daily Times News, this is the statesville daily record.

Ken Harris Iconic Picture
Whenever we think of Ken Harris, we think of this iconic image of him. For some reason later, many said this was Chuck Jones but this was the original publication of this image. This image from this newspaper was used to demonstrate an animator drawing Bugs for the contest. I don't know who won. Akron Beacon Journal.

The Bugs Bunny Road Runner Show guest Starring the Cowsills
1971 St. Louis Post Dispatch
Does anyone remember this? This can't be talking about the Bugs Bunny Road Runner Show TV Show right? Bugs Bunny also had a live performance but it speaks about the TVshow. Also who the hell are the cowsills? I think The Flintstones and The New Scooby Doo Movies were the only animated shows to ever feature guest stars. Weird.

Collectibles#15 1954 Dell Comic Book Rack
This is one of my most prized posetions. It contains all my Dell and Gold Key Comics. This is from 1954 and contains most of the popular characters published at the time with the exteption of Popeye and western comics like Roy Rogers. I also have an old store window display picture below. You can see it in the background.

Collectibles#14 Bugs Bunny Comic #57
In the 1950s, Dell Comics were popular. Bugs was one of there most popular titles. This comic contains a story sort of like A-Lad and his lamp but with Elmer Fudd added in. The genie looks nothing like the Genie in A-lad and his lamp which Jim Backus (Mr. Magoo) played. Anyways you could win this or another comic from 1958 by saving 30 points from Milk Cartons. This was not in any of the comics but was in the Abliene Reporter January 7th 1958.

Daily Times News Rabbit Hood ad
This was an ad for Rabbit Hood. Notice that they have the old original Tex Avery Model. That is a weird way to promote Bugs Bunny since this cartoon was almost a decade after his creation

Burlington North Carolina Bugs Bunny Theature ads
Here are a few ads from Bugs Bunny and Popeye and John Wayne from my most popular and requested newspaper to post about, the Times-Daily News!
