Everybody thought he was Mel Blanc. He never got credit so the public believed Mel was the voice of Donald Duck. The credits on Disney TV shows and his appearance on to tell the truth wasn't real proof to the public that he was the voice of Donald Duck.
There's a flaw in this, in my view: Nash appeared on What's My Line in 1954, clearly ID'd as Donald Duck's voice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4w6X_gfXIHc He was known, and in Disney's lifetime, too.
ReplyDeleteMy Dad used to do a pretty mean Donald Duck impression.
