Collectibles 7--- Looney Dakin Figures

There were a ton of dakin figures made. To see images, there are some on David Nimitz's Facebook page (who is the greatest collector ever). He probably has them all as well as the HB and Jay Ward figures. They also made Merlin the Magic Mouse and Cool Cat figures. Now here is the ad!!!

How to Sell Sylvester Shirts

Apparently real models were used to help sell Sylvester shirts. Sylvester was the only Looney Tunes character shirt sold. As you can see, they also sold  Superman and Batman shirts. This ad appeared in Life magazine.   It also promoted many sweatshirts  but none of them had to do with any TV show or movie.

Collectibles 5--Strange cel--(what the heck is this from?)

This is the weirdest piece of art I have ever seen. All of you know that Bugs and Tweety never shared spotlight and this couldn't be the Bugs Bunny show either.

Mr. Magoo promotion

In this Life Magazine issue, in small text, there is a promotion to Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol. I have no idea why. If you do comment below.

Commercial Artists spoof there work with Al Windley

In October 1937, a Halloween party was held where commercial artists spoofed their work. I didn't know that Windley did commercials but here he is dressed up in this getup. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS IS!!! If you know please comment and tell me.

Bugs Bunny Now Number One?

This doesn't seem right but....

BUGS BUNNY VARIETY-- but I believe Popeye was the number one before Bugs. The weird thing though is Popeye was popular in the 1930s but this article was made in 1945!

Top Popeye Locations#4--- Allen Canning Co.(Alma Arkansas)

Alma is known as the Spinach Capital of the world so it's only natural that Popeye would be there. This is a town is sort of devoted to Popeye because of being the Spinach Capital of the world and expecially because it's were the Popeye canned spinach that we all see at the super market is made.. You can get a tour of the spinach factory and see how it's canned! Here is the best spots for Popeye fans to vist there:

Some Popeye Things:
Alma Arkansas Allen Canning Company
Popeye statue

The original old (kind of creepy) Popeye statue built in 1987

Top Popeye locations#3---The Real Spinach Capital of the world

This is the offical Spinach capital of the world. The town is also devoted to Popeye. While there is not as many locations devoted to the sailor as the first two, the sailor's face is every where and there is a ton of popeye locations! The annual spinach festival is the best!

The first annual spinach festival took place in 1936 and the Spinach Festival maintains an office in downtown Crystal City. The Spinach Festival was resumed in 1982 after being suspended during world war II---The World of Texas

A statue of Popeye was erected with the blessing of the sailorman’s creator E.C Segar. It ranks high in the pantheon of less-than-serious statues in Texas. Today the pipe-smoking sailor stands in front of city hall – sharing the same banishment of other tobacco users (unfortunatly)--The World of Texas

More Popeye destinations:
Popeye Lake

Top Popeye locations #2--- Malta

Here is the second best!---

Ever since the Popeye Movie was filmed here, the town was devoted to Popeye. Though the town is 89% devoted to the crappy live-action film, it is a huge place, and it has so much stuff that it makes the #2 spot on the best Popeye fan vacation destinations!----

There is a little bit about the strip (not enough though): here is the link:

Bullwinkle watch story

The Bullwinkle watch ads and story

Story: I believe the watch was a response to the Mickey Mouse watch success. The ads were actually ward and Bill Scott jokes. This became very successful and because of this, every Jay Ward character got their own watch.

Collectibles#3-- Huckleberry Hound Bank

Huckleberry Hound Bank is our next Kamden's collectibles. This is a red Huckleberry Hound made in 1960. It's a plastic bank. According to Eric Goldberg, toy company's would make Hanna-Barbera characters different colors because the shows were in black and white and no one but the studio employees know what color the characters were. Hanna-Barbera approved just because of the money they were getting.
